How to Clean EP Conveyor Belt

Rubber EP conveyor belts are usually used to transport different bulk materials, therefore, after a period of running, the surface of the conveyor belt will stick to the dirt on the raw materials, which not only affects the speed of transportation, but sometimes causes the EP conveyor belt to deviate. Therefore, after using the conveyor belt for a period of time, it should be cleaned in time to keep the surface of the EP conveyor belt clean and tidy. So, how to clean the EP conveyor belt?

  1. Observe whether the EP conveyor belt is running normally.
  2. Check the position of the pressure fitting, there are several settings for pressure fittings:
    a. When the pressure assembly is located at 1\3, the original pressure value of the position should be set +2;
    b. When the position of the pressure fitting is at the value of 2\3 or 1\2, the pressure value is set to the original pressure value.
  3. Detect the usage of the EP conveyor belt.
    a. Against the direction of the conveyor belt, touch the appearance of the EP fabric by hand to determine whether it is worn.
    b. Measure the thickness of the EP conveyor belt.
    c. Detect the rubber lagging hardness of the drive pulley and tail pulley. (Whether the thickness of both sides of the conveyor belt is the same). When the hardness of the pulley rubber is between 7.2 and 8.5, it can be determined that the rubber lagging of the pulley is normal. When the rubber hardness of the pulley exceeds 8.5, it is recommended that the customer re-lagging the rubber.

According to the above information, it can be judged whether the EP conveyor belt can be cleaned.
Second, make sure the EP conveyor belt can be washed, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn off the steam valve and adjust the pressure according to the position of the tensioning assembly.
  2. For electromechanical equipment, wrap them with plastic film.
  3. Connect the cleaning equipment to 220v AC.
  4. Wet the EP conveyor belt. (The purpose of doing this is to allow the conveyor belt to better absorb the cleaning solution and clean it more cleanly.)
  5. Mix the cleaning solution and water at a ratio of 1:10, and stir evenly.
  6. Spray the cleaning solution evenly on the EP conveyor belt with a punching gun.
    a. Do not use excessive momentum on the reinforced side of the conveyor belt to avoid danger to the conveyor belt.
    b. The gun should be swept once, do not rinse repeatedly.
  7. Rinse with water. Be careful of at this time, the surface of the conveyor belt will be clean.

The third is drying.

  1. Let the machine belt conveyor run at a slow speed, and do not heat it at this time.
  2. Adjust the pressure assembly. (Because the EP conveyor belt will shrink when it meets water, increasing the pressure can pull the conveyor belt to its original length.)
  3. After the machine runs for 90 minutes, increase the speed of the machine, and observe the EP conveyor belt at any time to avoid misalignment.
  4. After the EP conveyor belt is running normally, there is an air pipe to wash away the dirt on the conveyor line, especially the dirt on the heating plate, so as not to stick to the conveyor belt again. The cleaning work is done. Clean up the site, organize the tools, and check whether the tools are complete, so as not to delay the next work.
