Analysis of the wear of the conveyor belt at the feeding point

The feeding conditions of the conveyor belt are classified into feeding conditions with normal cover wear, feeding conditions with less cover wear, and feeding conditions with greater cover wear. The design can determine the thickness of the cover layer on the conveyor belt according to different feeding conditions.

(1) Feeding conditions for normal wear of the covering layer: the feeding direction is consistent with the running direction of the conveyor belt; the equivalent free fall height of the material falling on the conveyor belt does not exceed 4ft (1.22m); the feeding section of the belt conveyor is The horizontal or inclination angle is not more than 8°; the designed chute and guide groove can make the material fall continuously to the center of the conveyor belt; the conveyed material does not damage the covering layer and the belt core.

(2) Feeding conditions with less abrasion of the covering layer: The material speed during the feeding process is almost the same as the running speed of the conveyor belt; a well-designed feeding chute and a small-spaced buffer roller are used, and the material falls on the conveyor belt with equivalent freedom The landing height is less than 3ft (0.915m), so that the impact force on the conveyor belt is small; a special device is set in the feeding chute to drop the fine material on the conveyor belt first to provide a layer of cushion for the bulk material; if it can Satisfy the above-mentioned feeding conditions to make the covering layer wear less.

(3) Feeding conditions for large wear of the covering layer: transverse feeding where the feeding direction of the material is 90° to the running direction of the conveyor belt; lateral feeding where the angle between the feeding direction of the material and the running direction of the conveyor belt is greater than 90°; the inclination angle of the feeding section is greater than 8°; the equivalent height of the free fall of the loaded material exceeds 4ft (1.22m); the speed of the loaded material in the direction of the conveyor belt is zero or the speed direction is opposite.
