How to choose the belt speed of linear belt conveyor correctly

Straight belt conveyor is the most widely used conveying equipment in the food industry. It can carry out horizontal conveying, inclined conveying and vertical conveying. In addition, the transmission line of the linear belt conveyor can be selected according to the requirements of the process, such as ordinary continuous operation, beat operation and variable speed operation, etc.; its transmission line can be selected according to local conditions. Or ramp conveyor. The linear belt conveyor can also carry out economical logistics transportation equipment which is indispensable to form a rhythmic pipeline operation line.

The selection of the linear belt conveyor is mainly based on the conveyor belt speed, because the belt speed is the most important reason for determining the throughput of the linear belt conveyor. There are various ways to choose the speed of a linear belt conveyor. So how to choose the belt speed correctly for the linear belt conveyor?

For conveyors with a longer horizontal distance, a higher belt speed should be selected; for short conveying distances, and the conveyor has a large angle of inclination, the slower the belt speed. The speed should be slower. For materials that are easy to roll, have a large particle size, are highly abrasive, or are prone to dust, and require high environmental sanitation conditions, a lower belt speed should be used. When weighing artificial ingredients, the belt speed should not be greater than 1.25m/s. When using the unloading truck, the belt speed should not generally exceed 2.5m/s; when conveying fine or small materials, the belt speed is allowed to be 3.15m/s. When the plow unloader is used, the belt speed should not exceed 2.0m/s. When there is a measuring scale, the belt speed should be determined according to the requirements of the automatic measuring scale. When conveying finished products, the belt speed is generally less than 1.25m/s. When the amount of conveyed dust is large, the belt speed can be 0.8m/s~1m/s; or it can be determined according to the material characteristics and process requirements.

The selection principle of the belt speed of the linear belt conveyor follows that when the conveyor is transported upward, the angle of inclination is large, the belt speed is low, and the material is conveyed downward, the belt speed should be lower; when the linear belt conveyor is horizontally transported, you can choose High belt speed for material transportation. The determination of the belt speed should also consider the type of conveyor unloading device. When a plow type unloading truck is used, the belt speed should not exceed 3.15m/s. The belt speed of the linear belt conveyor is related to the belt width, material properties, conveying capacity, block size and the line inclination of the linear belt conveyor.
