In the design and selection, pay attention to the following aspects:
(1) The conveyor belt selected must be adapted to the characteristics of the use. For special conditions, the conveyor belt with a special performance should be selected. The working environment temperature applicative to ordinary rubber EP conveyor belt is generally -10 ℃ ~ 40 ℃. When the working environment temperature is lower than -15 ℃, it is inadvisable to use a vi-nylon core conveyor belt. When the working environment temperature is lower than -20 ℃, and the steel cable conveyor belt is used, the cold-resistant requirements should be made to the manufacturer. The temperature of the conveying material applicative to ordinary rubber EP conveyer belt does not exceed 80℃ when the temperature of the conveying material is 80 ~ 150 ℃, the heat-resistant conveyor belt should be adopted (Type 1 100 ℃, Type 2 125 ℃, Type 3 150 ℃); when the temperature of the conveying material exceeds 150 ℃, consult with the manufacturer; when transporting high-temperature materials with a temperature of 300 ~ 500 ℃, the high-temperature resistant EP conveyor belt can be used. When conveying acid, alkaline, corrosive, oily substances and organic solvents and other materials, adopt acid and alkali resistant conveyor belt, corrosion resistance conveyor belt, oil resistance rubber conveyor belt or plastic belt. Fire-resistant belts shall be used for conveyors working in fire hazard areas.
(2) In the design of the system, we should carefully study the relationship among the transmission volume, transmission distance, transmission speed and the width of the conveyor system, make the economic and rational design for the whole system and a reasonable choice for the width of the conveyor belt. Conveyor belt width should meet the delivery volume and the requirements of conveying material particle size and tension. The maximum cross-sectional area S on the conveyor belt corresponding to various bandwidths is shown in Table 1-3. The value in the table is the calculated transport capacity Iv(m3/s) when the belt speed V = 1.0 m / s and inclination angle coefficient K = 1. See Table 1-4 for the granularity of the conveying materials to be used for various bandwidths.
(3) According to the working conditions of the EP conveyor belt, reasonably determine the safety factor, economically and rationally select the belt core materials and layers of the conveyor belts (or wire rope diameter and root number). The safety factor of the conveyor belt should consider safety, reliability, life, manufacturing quality, and economic cost, joint efficiency, starting factor, site conditions, user experience, and other factors. When using, select according to the manufacturer’s instructions and experience. The safety factor of the cotton canvas core conveyor belt is shown in Table 1-5; the safety factor n = 10 ~ 12 of nylon (nylon), polyester (polyester) canvas core conveyor belt and curing joint; when the use conditions are harsh and special security is required, it should be greater than 12; mechanical joint safety factor should be greater than 15. The static safety factor of the steel cord conveyor belt is 10, the dynamic safety factor is 5.7, and the calculation is done according to China’s static at present.
(4)When selecting the type, consider the match of cover rubber and belt core life.
