Choosing the right conveyor belt variety specification can extend the service life of the conveyor belt, ensure continuous and stable production, and reduce production costs and maintenance costs.
When selecting a conveyor belt (including replacement belts), the following aspects must be considered:
The number of core layers has strict requirements on the diameter of the pulley of the conveyor. The diameter of the pulley is too small, the bending of the conveyor belt is increased when the pulley is turned, the fatigue wear of the covering rubber is increased, and the reinforcing material, the core layer, and the covering are covered. The fatigue of the glue is also increased, and the service life of the conveyor belt is shortened.
Usually, the pulley diameter D has the following requirements:
Cotton canvas D≥80s
Nylon belt D≥90s
EP belt D≥108s
Steel cord core belt D≥145s
s: core thickness or wire rope diameter
If the diameter of the pulley is small and cannot be changed, a reinforcing material with a lower strength and higher strength may be used as the core to reduce the number of layers of the core canvas, so that the conveyor belt and the pulley can be better matched.
Under normal circumstances, the number of core layers of the conveyor belt should not exceed 6 layers, and the EP conveyor belt should not exceed 5 layers.
