Isto porque a resist\u00eancia de uma correia transportadora, seja a classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de tens\u00e3o da carca\u00e7a ou a resist\u00eancia \u00e0 rutura final, representa a quantidade de for\u00e7a que pode ser aplicada \u00e0 correia. Por exemplo, uma correia transportadora EP de 3 camadas tem uma classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de 110 PIW por camada, o que equivale a uma correia transportadora de 330 PIW. Esta \u00e9 a tens\u00e3o m\u00e1xima nominal com que a correia pode operar sem sofrer danos; exceder a tens\u00e3o nominal da correia transportadora EP pode causar rutura, sobre-elonga\u00e7\u00e3o, falha nas emendas, etc., por isso \u00e9 importante calcular o valor do PIW antecipadamente.<\/p>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Uma vez que a correia transportadora \u00e9 um dos componentes mais importantes do sistema transportador, \u00e9 obviamente crucial escolher a correia transportadora adequada.<\/p>\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Os elementos de tens\u00e3o na carca\u00e7a de uma correia transportadora fornecem a resist\u00eancia longitudinal para mover a carga e tamb\u00e9m suportam o torque do arranque do sistema.
