Por exemplo, uma correia transportadora de 3 camadas \u00e9 classificada em 110 PIW por camada, o que equivale a uma correia de 330 PIW. Esta \u00e9 a tens\u00e3o m\u00e1xima classificada \u00e0 qual a correia pode operar sem danos; exceder a tens\u00e3o nominal da correia pode causar rutura, sobre-elonga\u00e7\u00e3o, falha na emenda, etc., por isso \u00e9 importante calcular o valor PIW antecipadamente.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"color: #1975b3;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">Como PIW e N\/mm se convertem entre si?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt; color: #000000;\">Sem considerar um fator de seguran\u00e7a, PIW \u00e9 convertido em N\/mm(EP) multiplicando por 0,175.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-black-color has-text-color\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Exemplo: 2284 PIW x 0,175 = 400 N\/mm(400kN\/m)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><br><\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">N\/mm convertido em PIW multiplica-se por 5,71. Se o fator de seguran\u00e7a fosse 10, ent\u00e3o a resist\u00eancia total da correia transportadora seria de 577,5 N\/mm. Dividindo este valor por 3 camadas de EP, a resist\u00eancia de cada camada de tecido EP \u00e9 de 192,5 N\/mm.
